Hi Bob, I have a faint recollection of modified CMP's used in a lumber yard somewhere in Cambridge about 30 years ago that were the same colour blue as the FAT. Any connection?

Hi Russ
Good memory- you are thinking about Simpson Sawmill in Galt (cambridge) who used modified 3 tonners as forklifts. apparently some 160 machines were converted to forklifts by the sedora brothers Mt Albert ontario. Early version used cable lift from the winch but were soon replaced with hydraulics. The owner of the yard, Don Simpson was a great guy who let me park, dissassemble and generally muck about with CMPs for many years.
The truck in the photo was a from a scrap*yard in Paris ontario. Curiously enough I once had a Ford guntractor cut down into a tow truck that was purchased after the war from the Ford dealer in Kitchener. The dealerships apparently got first dibs in surplus truks as none had been available through the war years.,

"Good Memory" is kind of time sensitive, if it was 20 years ago (kids arrived) instead of 30 it would be gone. I just happened across the place one day, couldn't tell you exactly where if my life depended on it. Good Luck with the sale.

There was a yellow CMP with a forklift mast mounted at the rear in a scrap yard just east of Gardiners Road aka Hwy38 in the Kingston area during the 1990s when I went on a Land Rover salvage trip.

Never did get any photos
