I found a couple of manuals recently, and by luck one included a large storage diagram for the 3" Mortar carrier.

Great Pics, Thanks for posting, anyone got any aiming posts and A mega phone available, the pictures still shed no light on any item that could be stowed on the rifle support above the battery.

I have a number of the megaphones (batteries not required) but they are a bit beat up. New old stock ones were available from surplus city Jeep parts at one time...not sure if they still have them.

No wireless radio fittings or antenna mounts and brackets. No NO.-36 grenade boxes. No ammunition stowage boxes for rifle and/or BREN. Fitted to stow five rifles only. No BREN LMG fittings. No firing rests on upper protection plates, engine cover or gunners loophole. No anti-aircraft pogo stick bases. No smoke discharger fittings. No signal pistol bracket, no signal pistol cartridge box. Rations box relocated to top of engine cover. Production date early enough that two headlamps were still being fitted. All redundant hull fastener holes were closed by rivets. :thup2: |
Back in the day, I found a couple of these carriers up in Northern Ontario. Most/many of the brackets were still on them. However, the thought of trying to scare up that many 3" mortar stowage tubes scared me off from trying to put a mortar variant together, so I traded off the brackets to a fellow in Quebec.
