Any military history here?

Excuse my ignorance - am returning to this farm soon to retrieve more CMP parts. Farmer will part with these. Any expressions of interest, or are they post war? Apologies if am flagging this in wrong forum/arena.

The only vehicle I can definitely recognise is the K or KB series International in the lower left hand side photo and it is a post war truck.

If someone was keen to do a wartime K5 (such as used on the North South Road) this might be a good start. The only difference between K5 or KS5(two speed diff) and KB/KBS5 is an extra bit of chrome added to the front grille. I have a KBS5 and am wrestling with the idea of setting it up with my round front McGrath trailer for next year's Back to the Track. 6,000km return Brisbane, Alice Springs, Darwin, Brisbane is starting have me think - 70kmh and 10 miles to the gallon against 90kmh and 20miles to the gallon with my WC12 Dodge and its new high ratio diff??? In the top photo the vehicle to the left is a Austin Loadstar of 1950s vintage and the vehicle on the right is a Bedford A type of similar vintage.
I would hazard a guess that the vehicle in the lower left photo is an Austin K2 or K3 (or similar). Probably not much likelihood of military history with these, but who knows.... |
