1940 Ford 01C chassis and cowl
Can anyone post photos of the 1940 Ford 01C 112" WB chassis and cowls that were shipped from Canada or the US to England and other Commonwealth countries to be outfitted with locally made military bodies? I am interested in photos "as shipped". Thanks.

Chassis/cowl colours
IIRC, someone was asking about the colour in which chassis/cowl trucks were painted hen leaving the factory.
This thread has some pics of the Chevrolet 1542 in chassis/cowl configuration before being shipped overseas for further finishing with locally manufactured bodywork. Looks like the chassis was painted in "chassis black", the sheet metal a dark semi-gloss base paint: http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/at...9&d=1235772317 |

Hanno thanks for the reply. I posted the question earlier. Since then I did a little more research. The photo is of the Ford yard in Windsor full of vehicles awaiting shipment. As can be seen on the bodyless chassis, all vehicles components appear to be painted the same colour, chassis, cab and body. Although I could not see a 01C chassis/cowl, I'll presume they also were painted the same.
