The MOD still held stocks until a few years ago and may still do.

At CAD$50ea, no wonder the MOD is hoarding them. Sitting on a gold mine.

They are expensive aren't they. I have a drill round in nice cond. Chrome and red flutes etc. How common are they?

I have the .22 sub cal device

I generally see the fluted dummy rounds, or other variations, at around $100 each. The sub caliber rounds, made by HW Cooey, fetch up to $200 if they have the primer adapter.

I have not seen a live round sell for that kind of money. Generally, $25 to $50. Years back I managed to buy 48 rounds on clips for $10 each, which was a bargain, even 20 years ago. My Boys rifle is now converted to 50 BMG which has similar characteristics, but is easy to find and only at around $5 a round.

Unfortunately, the current Cdn government has declared firearms with energy in that ballpark and higher as prohibited. Their next step, they admitted, included banning ammunition, so that $200 Boys round may well have to be neutered. Mind you, our current ruling party is on self destruct, so there is hope yet. The opposition has said it will scrap controls on lawful owners and instead concentrate on criminals.

A government targeting criminals?! Got to be up to no good.
