Tank Wrecks at Westkapelle, Netherlands
1 Attachment(s)
Finally, I think I’ve finished:
The, as far as I know, first and therefore only, in-depth look at all the derelict military vehicles left in and around the village of Westkapelle in the Netherlands following the Second World War. Download it here, free of charge! Spread the word :) |
Thank you very much, looks like a true labour of love Jakko!
I will read the final version and get back to you. Meanwhile I will spread the word. |
Excellent job! :note:
|
I am downloading now and watching the MB counter.
Much appreciated. |
Very well done!
I just downloaded the book and it looks like a great tribute, and a splendid capture of the history of conflict in that area.
A job very well done - thank you . Stewart |
Excellent work Jakko....also happy to see the pictures in high res now
I hope other will join the discussion on some of the details and fittings we see on some of the tanks.....light the neat folding tray, as seen on the transmission cover of the Sherman on the leading picture....the large boxes on the right hand side of the Crabs.......and maybe that piece of round bar welded to the commanders cupola on Crabs (and an occasional Sherman V)! Alex |
OK...what is the trick????
I downloaded ( 3 times) and when I try to open it tells me the file had an error and is not available.......
Do I need some pink sparkle magic dust???? Bob C |

And thanks to everyone else who replied :) |
Update!
I’ve just put version 1.1 online :) It has had mistakes corrected, new information added that surfaced after the initial release, some additional photographs, and more! Also, there is now a version intended for printing out as well as one for viewing on a computer screen, tablet, etc. You can download a (new?) copy from tankwrecks.westerbeke.name, still free :) |
Thanks again.
I appreciate all of your efforts.

Thank you :)

Census Number Query
Hi Jakko,
Great piece of work thank you. I think I might have spotted a census number typo error. Sorry. You list Churchill IV census T32283 A2C with details and photos etc but in the appendix at the end it is listed as T32263 A2C. Cheers Kevin |
Ack! Yes, you’re right :( The one in the appendix is the typo. Thanks for pointing it out :)

No problem. I was just cross referencing the names and numbers against my databases and spotted it. Just a little bit of history to a couple of Churchills:- T32023/R was with 142 RAC up to 1943 T68273/R was with Ontario Regiment up to 1942, then 148 RAC in 1943 Cheers Kevin |
