Remove hose markings

I've struggled for a while to find some white rubber hose for the C15 water truck. Most of it is the shiny silicon type. I found some EPDM hose that at first glance looks quite good; only drawback is the manufacturer's marking that appears every 250mm along it's length.

Anybody have any ideas on how to 'conceal' these markings? It looks to be moulded into the hose rather than printed on, so I doubt sanding it would work? :giveup

Thanks!
Owen.

Try some acetone on a cloth or lacquer thinner. I’ve found between those two it will remove the printed on markings.

Hi Jordan,

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll give that a try at the weekend.

Thanks!
Owen.

Hi Owen

Would be good to know how you got on. The parts list for Morris and Bedford Bowsers states corrugated hose. However most of the in service photos I have seen have white non-corrugated hoses. Interestingly one of the Bedford factory photos shows a vehicle with both types

Cheers
Richard

Hi Richard,

I used some panel wipe, which with a bit of elbow grease seems to be shifting the printed-on markings. :yappy: I may upgrade to a paint thinner though, to see how that works too? Will let you know...

Thanks!
Owen.
