Long distances didn't put off these buyers of disposals trucks . Was it worth the effort and where did they obtain the petrol in the days of petrol rationing ?

Even Lord Nuffield got in on the act and it looks like a Morris. What was he doing in Australia in 1945 ?

The pic of Lord Nuffield , the vehicle he was so interested in, has been confirmed as being a pre 1939 Morris CS8. Well, he would go for the Morris of course !!!!Going by the newspaper reports, He was out here on a promo tour of sorts.

Bit of detective work might find that Morris still on the farm at Orange NSW.. wishful thinking

It may be apocryphal but I've heard stories of US surplus sales where the value of the fuel in the aircraft was more valuable then the aircraft. And that buyers would purchase a row planes, collect the fuel from them and scrap the rest for aluminum.
