Flathead water pump pulley
2 Attachment(s)
Two type of pulley can found on late Ford CMP.
One with two "spokes" and one without. Look the pics! Regards |
Mariano, the two groove pumps (37 to 48) are bearinged (high load) pumps the single groove (sheave) pumps are only bushed. There are a lot of different front pulleys, fan locations, high output generators, big fans (requiring high torque loads) which require tighter belts etc.
Cars often only used the single sheave pump because the fan was driven by a separate belt, so the generator and water pumps only had a single sheave. (the load was less) There are many variations. Btw the double sheave pumps also come in two different belt widths. Does that help? |

Of all the things that go sour from sitting water pumps seem to be the worst. |

The 1941 MCP 11D truck I had was fitted with the water pump single grooved pullies but I am not sure if the engine was original to the truck, it was a 85 bhp motor. I fitted new seals but they leaked, Yep the plain bushes were worn. I'm sure it had only a single belt driving the gene and water pumps ?
The film company (in ALBERT PARK) I sold the truck to had the pumps rebuilt by the mob in Sth.Melbourne, plus the radiator recored for a cool $800 , this was in 1991 prices. The truck featured in a B grade movie and was seen on late night TV a few times . Here she is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf0pGxXBTyI |
