The position of the short rod is correct? Need any spring?

Hi Mariano,

That is correct. No spring at that shaft but there is a return spring as part of the accelerator pedal linkage at the cabin floor pedals plate.

Cheers,

Jacques, thanks for your help!
This spring on the pedal seems too heavy to move the linkage.... Perhaps because our feet are used to the soft pedal of modern cars.

Hi Mariano,

Good that it is heavy. Sometimes those springs are broken or weakened and as they are not a standard item they are difficult to replace. Other methods of a pedal return spring have to be set up.

Perhaps if you lubricate all the ball linkages with something like white lithium grease it may help. Don't forget the grease fitting on that linkage shaft on the front engine cover plate on left side.

Cheers.
