Overhauling the Carter ETW1 Carburetor
|
Good resource
for those with that type of carby.
Has anyone seen the same sort of thing for the Ford CMP one? |
Carter Carbs
Nearest thing I found is a photocopied magazine article from the 40s that I bought on EBay - it gives float settings and other data for various models, including the Carter W-1 and WA-1(but not the exact one by number that I took off my Chev 216 engine) among others - but it is nowhere near a complete overhaul guide.

its for an M 37
The carb shown at the beginning is for the M 37 Dodge Power Wagon...... never seen it on a Ford....... Canadian models had larger 251 engines same carb.... to my knowledge same jet size...
Good carbs...... shown with governor... which is essential to save the life of the long storke Dodge engine.... as a tendency to dry up in the accelarator pump area if stopped for too long...prpperly set up they are very reliable. |
Goldmine.....
My God Phil.....what a find......
Do you guys realize that some of those pages are for sale on EBay at $7.50 for a couple of pages....... sic...I know I just got some pages for the Carter YF used on the Ford 300ci which apparently can be fitted on a 261 Chev...... I am almost tempted to download all the information on a CD before someone realize what they are doing and pulls it from the TO CMP site...... That in my book is worth a "Gols Star"..... ..............the wonders of the Web.... never ceases to amaze me!! |
