British Ford ID

I have not seen this posted before so will give it a try to help you ID various commercial Fords taken on by the British Forces.
As David indicates, I assume "E" stands for England or English, "WO" stands for War Office and "R" for Romania.
I apologize for the poor quality but they are probably third generation copies and I do not even remember where I got them from.

Answer

This is Ford, Dagenham's 1942 identification chart for British Government vehicles, and includes some CMPs that acquired 'E' prefixes because they were assembled in Dagenham to British order, as well as possibly a few contractors, plus MCPs and one contract for the Canadian Forestry Corps. The document lists all the various passenger cars and utility variants, and quotes in somew cases British contracts as well as the Supply/Mechanical ones [S/M for Canadian supply and the V.xxxx contract for actual assembly].

The EC098T is of course a Canadian-sourced MCP assembled in Dagenham whereas the R01T trucks were meant for the Romanian British-Ford subsidiary but never delivered.

Marmite out!

WOA For Sale

A club member here is selling his WOA heavy Utility . It was imported in 1976 from U.K. It needs a rebuild as dry rot has affected the wooden coach framework .
