Cab 12 tray question

http://www.oldcmp.net/Images/F60L/Hedges_12/CU_tray.jpg

Here we have a nice F60L Cab 12 with a tray (Baaaarrrrrx to you Canadians) taken "somewhere in Australia by John Hedges.

John was wanting to know how original this is and particularly the cut out piece which has been well engineered, and even has a canvas cover.

It looks to me like it has been transferred to this vehicle from another, as there is no spare wheel space behind the cab... the spare being mounted in the tray itself.

The tray looks to be very similar to the machinery workshop which has a similar opening.

Any answers?

Not a particularly clear pic, but dave prince has a couple of pictures of Aussie CMP body types and while it's on a 13 cab, this looks like it might be similar, Truck, 3-ton, Machinery (AUST.), "D" Loading ? No spare visible here either, perhaps it used runflats?

Bingo!

Yes, that was the one I was thinking of... Intersting there's no spare tyre box.

C60L workshop body spare tyre

The spare tyre was mounted on a short section of the drop down side on the drivers side of the tray , similar to what is shown on the left hand side of the tray with the mesh in it . The tyre fitted into a box in the tray and was only accessable from the outside .

Aahh!! Like this fold down side with supporting chains? It'd be a heavy lift for a 10.50-20 wheel. Was there no ramp?
