V2 rocket at Salisbury store

V2 on the Meilerwagen transport and erector trailer. Both now at the AWM in Canberra, and currently under restoration. The smaller winged rocket, the nomenclature of which escapes me, is, I think, also at the AWM.

I suspect the smaller rocket is a Messerschmitt Enzian based on: http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/LRG/enzian.html

Thanks
Thanks for the memory jogger, Grant: yes, the Enzian. LRWE obtained a number of rocket-associated items in immediate post-war period, including an Oxygen container trailer, Vidalwagen, and other German items. Sadly, many were sold off/junked.
The airfield being constructed was/is RAAF Edinburgh, South Australia. Mike |
