One of three 'Truck, Heavy, Workshop' supplied to the RAAF based on the GMC AFKX352. There were also three air compressor trucks. Nice image.

1940/41 Ford 12 cwt Van. This is one the Nth. American style pickups that Ford Australia assembled for the war effort, these featured the 1940 sedan car front grill and guards. The late production examples had roof hatches. This one appears to have reg. 5319 - it could be this vehicle I found in AWM 126: 5319 was issued to the 1 Provo Coy. NT force, it is listed as a 15 cwt . it was disposed to a Mr. L. B????L

Ian S at Temora has one of these finished in the desert yellow livery. Ian mentioned: the bonnet is unique to this model because it has to align with the truck cab and the more common car/sedan bonnet will not fit. Ian had to import the special bonnet from N.Z.

These F15 with Canadian GS bodies have turned up all over the place . Was one here in Warragul minus the body.

Scene is Darwin with a bomb damaged building in the background ( bank I think ) .

Is there any chance of improving the resolution of that last photo?
Would love to know the bridge plate number.

I had a look at the tif format download and it is still somewhat blurry . Could be a '3'

Maybe it depends on who does the scanning in the N.T. archives office on a particular day. Some of the pics are very high resolution and other pics are not so good. Also, these pics are generally 'snapshots' taken by service people using cameras with a basic lens. Think it was frowned upon to take pics as well but many of them did.
