I met Bill Diehm back in 1979. Apart from his interest in jeeps, he was , at the time, restoring a 1/2 Ton WC Dodge 4x4 and later on he had a rare 1941 Aust. army car type Ford ute. 20+ years ago, I bought a 2 gallon POW can from a guy at a swap meet in Melbourne, we got talking and it turns out the guy was Bill Diehm's son. Bill passed on many years ago. Pic of Bill https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/Sear...rcode=11969861 Another jeep resto https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/a...p%20restore%22 |
Phillip Island

Jeep at San Remo, Phillip Island circa 1946-49. Jeep was registered before LHD vehicles were banned from being registered on Victorian roads in 1948. Most of these Victorian LHD registered jeeps had either a 'J' or 'K' reg. prefix. I have seen a single 'G' prefix jeep which is very early for a jeep.
