Torque settings
Hi can some one tell me the torque settings for the chevy 216 engine 1940-41 block I would like to torque the head and big end bearings
Thanks Richard |
Hello Richard.
According to Chiltons 1950 publication, all 216's between 1938 and 1950 should have head bolts tightened to 75-80 foot pounds. David |
:thup:Thanks
Do you know about the big end bearings |
Very tight.....
Main bearings... 100 to 110 pounds*** with oil threads
Connecting rods 40 to 45 with oil thread Head bolts 75 to 80 but dry bolts in a circular pattern starting inthe centre. ....page 38K of the MB-C2 Valve rocker support......dry 25 to 30 pounds Enjoy..... |
Thanks Bob that's very helpful I've striped the engine down to check it so far all seems ok its been modified to have bearing liners in the past, unfortunately the head needs skimming and I need new inlet and outlet valves if any one has any let me know.
Thanks |
