Rupert over in West. Aust. found this pic of the Spastic Centre buses (based in Sydney) , pic is circa 1948. A few years later (in 1950) the vehicles were up For Sale including the now sought after Humber 4X4 Box.
The two CMP vehicles on the left (next to the Humber) are examples of the rare 6 seater utility Aust. |

Hi Mike
having trouble with the computer, I have now bought a humber HU 4X4, from Queensland, need a ton of parts, and some history, should be M4380125 or M4379982, has the number 1229 stamped on diffs and rear axle date 27-9-1941, i think this maybe a repair number, could be census. best Rupert |

If you are interested: instead of building the complicated HU coach-built framed body, you could fabricate a simpler PU type body. I have accurate plans/drawings for the PU body, measured from my original PU Morris body, the basic layout would be the same but the mounting hardware would be different for a Humber. These tubs were fitted to Morris-Commercial, Humber, Ford and the CMP C8. The metal parts are flat, no complicated curves , and a simple wooden floor and tailgate. |
