I ran across this photo the other day. No idea who the personnel are, or exactly when in 1944 the photo was taken.

The back of the nearest truck appears to be a LAAT. Note the fairlead underneath the hitch and the lack of tailgate, but rather it has canvas doors at the back.

Lovely picture, David!

I agree.... LAAT...two even...a 15cwt GS and a 3Ton GS in one row.

It reminds me of the pictures Phil Waterman posted years ago of some C30 LAATs with Bofors struggling in the snow....no idea if there is a link though!

In addition to the 5 CMP's parked along the curb in front of the Imperial Oil Service Centre, there is a sixth one parked along the median in the distance, and of course the MB/GPW parked along the median facing the camera in the foreground.

Not sure, but roughly middle of the road, there looks like an individual in Dispatch Rider gear, facing the camera talking to someone in a winter issue coat. That might mean a motorcycle could be parked in the gap between the first group of three CMPs along the curb and the next two further up.

Also wonder if the individual in the winter issue coat came from the jeep? Seen a lot of wartime photos over the yers with officers in jeeps in the winter with similar looking winter gear.
