Shifting into Reverse - GM Gear Shift Pattern

Question: What model GM CMP with a single speed transfer case would engage reverse gear by shifting to the right and down?

My reason for asking is seeing a 1942 GM gear shift instruction plate which indicates that - sorry, no picture available.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Brian,

...and the C15TA. If you have an original plate for sale, I would like to line up in the queue...

Hanno.

As always there is slight differences in the shifter plates.

Both line drawings are from the maintenance manual.

Doesn't the Otter have a high/ low transfer case?

That's what I thought. So what's up with the first plate? Could it be an incorrect draft misused as a drawing in the manual?

No the first drawing is for the Otter.

This is what an original Otter plate looks like. Not mine
