Hagerthy Insurance in Canada....HEADSUP
 

Not sure what it means for us MLU....but just been notified that , effective Januray 2026 we have been sold/ barthered away or otherwise turned over to AVIVA insurance of Canada.......

No changes expected !!!!!! heard this one before.........

When I read the letter, it didn't look like there was as much to worry about as perhaps Bob and Chris allude. The only change will be the name of the issuer to Aviva. Hagerty was already owned by them.

I will say I got my money's worth a few years ago after Dave finished the M151A2. It passed a test drive and I took possession. But, at dusk in the countryside, I thought better than to try to get it home by myself. CAA refused to tow it, but Hagerty found a truck through some sort of brokerage. We loaded up and I led the way. The driver complimented me by saying, I pushed good gas.

I had a negative experience with Hagerty in the USA. My two jeeps, one registered and one under restoration, are "bundled" with the home and vehicle insurance. The amount the insurer added on to the home/vehicle policy worked out considerably cheaper than Hagerty's pricing.
