Feuding MLU Folks listen up ... VEGEMITE and MARMITE seem to have a RIVAL ... what's up with this??? Who is this strange MITE I've never seen before? Is it an upstart newcomer?

We all KNOW that MARMITE CAME BEFORE VEGEMITE!!! (ooooh ... dem's fighten' words, eh? ) but who the heck is this unfamiliar little MITE?

BTW ... Keefy the first instigator?

Well, I never! I just did an MLU forum search on the word VEGEMITE and searched for "posts" ... see below:

http://mapleleafup.org/forums/search...der=descending

189 Posts! If you all scroll to the last page to view the FIRST POSTED POST ... you will all clearly see that it's our own Oz-manian  KEEFY his-self who seems to have iinstigated this whole VEGEMITE obsession feud ... way back in March of 2003!

Tsk tsk tsk ... Keefy, you are a bad, bad, boy indeed!

Promite is another Aussie yeast extract spread, and rather nice, a sweeter flavour.

I find Marmite a bit to strong. To keep up the Vegemite trail, try a smear on your ham sandwiches instead of mustard, very tasty.

I find Marmite to strong a taste too... too bitter/salty.

Will have to see if there's any PROMITE around to do a comparison tastetest :)

Hey ... for anyone that enjoys that Yeast taste and the B vitamins blast that are so good for us ... you might want to try ENGEVITA YEAST ... its a cooking/whatever yeast., pale orangey/yellow in colour, I sprinkle it on popcorn and can't get enough of it! I also sometimes sprinkle it on bread and thick butter YUM ... CATS GO CRAZY FOR IT!!!! Even better than CatNip for them i think :)

Engevita is most likely to be found in a health food place or section of a grocery store ...

Fair enough-Marmite is for the real men,Not the wimp's from the colonies! (Now that's really fighting talk-so I'll go and hide):D
Actually Marmite is great on hot toast, but you have to be carefull not to spread it too thickly!
