cmp wheels

HELLO ALL
I Should know this but dont did any 30 cwt cmp use the 20 inch wheels a friend of mine in scotland has a chev that he has used for twenty eight years in the forests of CUMBRIA from his photos it looks as though his truck has been cut off at the rear end but he seems to think its a C30 but it has the 20 inch wheels i think it is a C60 S AS IT HAS A 134INCH WHEEL BASE. also it has the mid chassis winch but no cable guides the rollers on the bumper are there also so is this a C30 OR C60S
REGARDS TO ALL VIC EATON

Hi Vic,

If the 20" wheels and winch are not retrofitted, it must be a C60S.
The short-wheelbase 60-cwt Chev had the same 134" wheelbase as the 30-cwt.
For Chev specs see http://www.mapleleafup.org/vehicles/.../chevspec.html

Cheers,
Hanno

HI THERE HANNO
Thanks for that ill try and get a picture of this truck put on here regards vic .

If you can visit the truck and it still has it's data plate, you can tell from the serial number. A C30 will have a serial No that starts with the last digit of the year of manufacture then 8441, eg 28441xxxxx or 38441xxxxx. A C60S will have the number 8442, eg 28442xxxxx or 38442xxxxx.
If the data plate is not there, you will have to count the number of leaves in the rear springs. The C30 should have 12 leaves, the C60S should have 18 with auxillary helper springs.
