Aussie Carriers
There are more than 200 Carriers in Australia if you count the wrecks!
I have a carrier database of Australian carriers which I will update accordingly. Then, of course there was the Year of the Carrier where 21 Carriers were fielded at Corowa, of which 17 travelled the 3.2 Km distance to establish a Guinness World Record. There were also the remains of two British carriers on a trailer. |
How many carriers are there?
Just off the top of my head, I know of at least 24 T-16s here in the USA alone. I will soon be acquiring 3 more myself. I heard that Southeastern equipment brought in about 120 of them in thelate 60s or early 70s. Many were scrapped about 10 years ago.

SWCA
Dave,
What a great Idea! We'll have monthly meetings at my place, and we wll have at least 3 people show up!!! Do you think we could beat the Corrowa record of 17 carriers here in the US if we organized a rally? Somethin to think about Rod |
how about we meet in the middle, say el paso? the media would think we were the reinforcements for the minuet men :)
dave |
How many carriers?
Dave,
The minutemen were here in Az. not in Texas! Have you ever been to El Paso? It is much nicer here in Phx. Well, I'm off to Aberdeen, so I will talk to you in a few weeks. Rod |
thanks rod, yes i took AIT and basic training at FT Bliss (YUCK)!!!
so i know all about that place. the AZ part of the minuet men is over, but they are going to have another part soon. it will have sevral sections from CA, NM, AZ and TX watched this time. but that means i would have to repaint my carrier to 8th army standards. have a great time at aberdeen!!! |
