Yearly mileage on CMPs
 

Hello, all...

A question on yearly useage.

Since I've put on 110 miles on my Chev (ex Dave Moore) since last September, and up 'til now (winter storage not withstanding), and anticipating weekly Cruise Nights during the summer, and the odd weekly flip down to the Legion, I expect to accumulate about 250 miles this season.

How does this stack up with other CMP owners? High...Low???

My FGT has done a few miles, mostly when it was towed recently, and probably all of 500 meters under it's own power.

When I had the F60L on the road I suppose it would have averaged about the same or a little more than your Chev with the exception of the Year of the Blitz when it went to Corowa and back, a round trip of about 600km.

With our Ford it's almost 10 years since we put her back together and it has clocked up about 12000 miles. The most it done in one year was a trip from Yass to Alice Springs and back doing approx 4500 miles in 5 1/2 weeks in the year 2000 when A couple of Canadians came out and did the trip with us, one of them was Don Lewis whom you may know from your local politics . This year so far we have done only 700 miles, with a few more small trips to go. The poor old thing could nearly do with another going over. Mind you the wife hasn't been included in any of this, it gets more attention than her, so she thinks.

Two Trucks Two Thousand Miles
 

When I just had the HUP I'd put on about 2000 miles each year, limit on antique truck insurance is 2500 miles per year. When I added the C60 mileage dropped to 900-1000 on the HUP and 1000 or so on the C60. The C60 start out with about 6400 miles on the clock it now has just about 15,000 miles.

My next challenge is to get more driving time when I add the third truck to the fleet.

Zero miles cause I'm a dumb-a**. The F15 is still in Manatoba.

The sick part is I just bought a MB Jeep cause it was cheap.

My priorities are messed up, for sure.

This instrument cluster fresh from an LP2A carrier has only 476 miles on it. A little further to go, Stewart!

My goodness Tony, "Thing" is still going, holding a carrier dash! Did Thing manage to extract the dash single handed (so to speak) or did you have to assist? More to the point, which Corowa carrier is now without one!

Surprised but glad to see he ended up in Lithgow after his Addams family career.

Do you use him to open the hatch on your blitz, Tony? Is he useful for sanding and parts washing?

He's very useful about the workshop, a veritable Left Hand Man! He can also operate a DVD player remote control, but there's no call for that just at the moment;) , or will there?

Don't worry, Thing will have plenty to do soon... the edit is finished and the sound mix is happening right now. The Year of the Carrier DVD will feature an hour of carrier action from Corowa, PLUS about another hour of special features, including a visit to frozen Canada to see Stewart Loy's carrier in action (yes, in the snow), an extended piece featuring all the vehicles in the parade, the history of the carrier and some of the special variants, the Wirraway segment from the Temora Aviation Museum (which was to have graced the skies over the parade), also a segment on the Army Museum's 2 pounder Tank Attack carrier which I visited at Bandiana after the event, and we take a ride in the incredible highly modified LP2A with M3 Stuart tracks and a large Dodge V8.

So the process from here is going to be duplication and for our North American friends we'll also be preparing a special NTSC DVD. The program won't be available on VHS.
So hopefully we'll be able to start to send them out in a couple of weeks... don't worry, I'll let Thing know!
