Who wants one....
What would be the interest for such a beast or 2 or 3 in the Ottawa area?
Seemingly complete but stored WITHOUT any attempt to preserve the engine...... do the CWM have such an engine to do a static display..... or could they be considered as parts engine? I am trying to be careful here since they are not mine to negotiate about but it would be a shame to have them sold for aluminium scrap...... Just curious.... Bob C. |
R975 Radials
Hi Bob:
Where can one get their hands on one, two or three in the Ottawa area? :salute: Mike |
Pratt-Whitney R-975
I dont know if this will help you,but here goes.
Is the Pratt-Whitney R-975(aircraft engine) the same engine???.If so I have several aircraft bone yards, within 2 1/2 hour drive of me. Patrick |
No I am sorry to say the P&W R975 is not the same, it is about double the HP, and roughly 50% larger in size.
The engine type you are looking for, would perhaps be contained within a Stearman. Regards Col Tigwell Downunder |
Ok how about the 500-700 R- wasps. While Im at it
how many cylinders are we talking about, and what is the displacement we are talking about? Patrick |

Gunner, Brian Asbury has a R975, test run and preserved, asking I think around $2850 CAN.
Bob Phillips also has some, although I'm not too sure about condition and he does have bags of NOS parts as well... |
R975
Tony, what ever happened to the radial - find any more ?
