solex carb question

All,

I have just picked up a brand new twin choke solex carb for my alligator. (This has taken two and a half years to find!!!)

Can any one shed some light into setting the carb for first running. the model is a Solex 30 AA PI tin choke down draught model.

Also does anyone know if there is any way in getiing manufactured date for this model of carb.

Somewhere on this carb will be stamped the Specification Record No. At a guess it may be S.1450 or similar, if you can quote it, I can give you full spec. on the carb, hopefully!
