Happy Dominion Day!

On this date, we mark the 138th birthday of Canada as an independent entity. The Libs call it 'Canada Day' now, so fly your Dominion Red Ensign with pride! :D

Today also marks the 89th anniversary of the 1st Battle of the Somme, the number of casualties of which, I believe, marks the beginning of the end of the British Empire.

:salute:

Parade in Cambridge

Here are some pix from the always well attended parade in Cambridge, Ontario. The parade route was full of spectators to wave and cheer the marching bands, WW2 veterans, and lots of assorted floats by local servce clubs.

Tommy Allen from London with his 15cwt welder truck, as well as John Hotson from Avonbank with his GS body 15cwt made the long voyage to get to the event. Both gents have masterful restorations that take them to many parades and events.

Here is the bigger picture:

Here is my favourite T-16 with Mr. Ron Jagiellowicz - an Italian campaign veteran. And some of the HLI gang to keep order.

Charlie Fittons MkII Carrier was lead machine, as he had 2 flags on the rear deck to showoff. HLI militiamen would rather ride than walk.
