Looking for universal carrier mk 2 photos

Hello

I am looking for some photos of the rear fighting compartment of a universal carrier mk II in order to improve the old tamiya kit.

I am specifically looking for photos of the fuel tanks, engine access panels and exhaust grill plus any generic details that would have been present in the common carrier during wwii (ie weapon mounts, stowage compartments/tie downs, etc).

Thank you

Is this of any help?

Hanno,

They do some nice work at that museum, but they have some stuff a bit off.

The gunners side fuel tank stowage bin is the wrong way around. That small door should be at the back of the hull - as it is the access to the fuel tank!

Also, there must have been some T-16 bits left over, as a spoked Carrier road wheel made it to the spare tire stowage position. I see that the PIAT stowage both at the drivers position and over the engine are swipped directly from a T-16. I have never seen that anti-armour device depicted in pix from the period or on any stowage drawings.

One thing that has always puzzled me about that 1/35th scale plastic model of the Carrier - why does it have the fold down front armour of a MkI, with the track dust shields and crew steps of the MkII machines?

'cause the people at Tamiya are stupid and have even continued the mistakes of this 1/35 model into their new release 1/48 scale carrier model :)

cheers

universal carrier

Hello

Thanks for the link Hanno. Every pic helps to fill in the gaps.

As for problems with the Tamiya universal carrier .... fixing it is part of the fun. Its certainly not up to par with current kits but it is a starting point.

Regards
