Have you noticed that troops with the long rifles look sharper marching and doing the manual of arms then troops with the Mattel M-16.

Yes, they do, and having done the US manual of arms with the M1, the M14 and the M16, your comment about the Mattel M16 is right on the money.

BUT, mightn't they look smarter with those SMLE's you Diggers surplussed awhile back?

Back in 63 I did the manual of arms and marched with M1 and BAR the felt like real weapons. In our reserve unit you got the BAR if the sarget did like you.

Father with the Govenor General Aid

Father is 85 now. A couple of months ago we moved him into a retirement village and is settled in quite well.
