It looks great. Your catching up to me. For the orintation of the star I suggest level. Most pictures I have seen of them the stars are level and not tilted.

To me the bottom one looks better.-needs to be lower down too.
Just my opinion. It all looks great anyhow, and thanks for the excellent pictures.

Brad..The star was supposed to be an allied air identification marker put on all allied vehicles just prior to D Day..

Canadians saw this as an "Amerricun" marking and to signify their rebellious spirit cocked the star at an angle to ident Canadian warriors ,as rigorous instructions came with the placement and installing of the star which they saw as B.S.....

or so the story goes..
Canadian carrier...crooked..
American carrier...level....

I like the stars crooked myself, it's documented (in numerous photos) that it was fairly commonplace, and it definatly sets vehicles apart when parked next to "american" equipment. I'm debating myself whether to paint stars at all on my jeep or not, but found a jeep with 6th AB that had a crooked star on it, so might go for the crooked look....

...if anything it's a nice conversation piece at displays. You can bore the public with more information than they need to know when they ask if the guy painting the stars was drunk.

I can see it now...."Actually, it was laid out in order 24-4-356 dated March '43 about the star, but then in November of 43 you have order.....ma'am... wake up please..." :)

of course, I don't know that from experience... ;)

BTW... I hear you on the hole drilling. Damn repro bodies, I suprise myself when I find even MORE holes that need to be drilled here and there. I'm well over 200 holes drilled on the little ol' jeep, and luckily most of them have been in the right spots ;)

I saw an original photo of a Canadian or British Vech that had "curved" points on the star..seems they didn't like putting them on.

Just found this picture of a British carrier.
The text say's British carrier landing in Normandy. All allied vehicles were instructed to paint American star on side. In protest British troops painted there stars up-side down.
