Queensland auction
This was brought to my attention by Michael Robinson.
I have no connection with the seller - the usual disclaimer. http://www.hassalls.com.au/images/catalogue/Z_18.jpg http://www.hassalls.com.au/images/catalogue/Z_19.jpg http://www.hassalls.com.au/images/catalogue/Z_20.jpg This one looks interesting... a C60L Workshop. There are a lot more vehicles including some champs and a jeep at Hassals auctions at Gracemere, Qld on December 3rd, 2005. Hopefully someone can post the results. |

And how the heck did this end up in Queensland?

Keith, did you scroll down to items 188, 205 or 209?
|
Hey! What kind of a joke is this? Have SEEN where Gracemere is? I don't think I could even get there by Saturday.

Marinised diesel?
Not too sure about their ID here!
http://www.hassalls.com.au/images/catalogue/Z_235.jpg The marinised bit looks correct... I remember we had an opportunity to pick up several of these back in the 70s when I was working at Hughes auto spares - they said they always turned them down as they were unsuitable for reconditioning once they'd had salt water through the cooling system. |

G'day All, Aw c'mon fella's Gracemere is about 10k's (6 miles) or so out of Rockhampton, it's only a 16 1/2 hour drive in my 110 Landrover County 3.9 Diesel (from Cessnock in the Hunter Valley New South Wales), and I have done this drive many times in the past, but I wouldn't be able to afford to transport anything that far home unfortunatley, but I'm sure some of the fella's from the Qld Light Horse who are based in the heritage musuem out at Parkhurst (Nthern side Rocky) would know about it and would be in attendance at the auction, cheers Dennis
PS my daughter lives in Parkhurst about a half mile from the musuem so no points for guessing where I go when I visit:D |
Some more interesting stuff up for auction. However interesting they are, I can't see how some of it could make more than scrap iron value...

Not surprisingly he's had a flood of phone calls about the auction and I wouldn't be surprised if it took him some time to do this. |
The FGT
Well, here she is... going under the hammer tomorrow.
http://www.oldcmp.net/Images/fgt/Gracemere/P1010058.jpg Is anyone from our ranks going? Although she's reasonably complete externally, there has been a lot taken out internally: http://www.oldcmp.net/Images/fgt/Gracemere/P1010060.jpg More pics here. |
FGT sold
Did anyone from here buy it?
Guess how much... |

Price
According to the agent, it went for A$7,000.
Not bad for an unrestored, gutted vehicle! Be interesting to hear who bought it and what's planned for it. |

I'm sure it ended up with someone seriously interested in a AUS FGT...A$7,000 is too much for a farm truck. Here's hoping it will be restored to it's former glory. H. |
