WANTED : CMP or C60 3 tonner

Greetings Gents . Am in search of a mostly restored , good running GS truck . Not seeking the rarest , most unique restoration available , that would be for me to do , yes ? Would be decent if was mostly complete , good drive train , wiring harness , clean body , all tyres , glass , bows & canvas , etc . Thinking about selling yours ? It would be going to a good home . Thanks , Lads !

John,

1) Not exactly next doors, but there's a Chevrolet C15A for sale in El Monte, California, USA.

2) Possibly Marc Montgomery's 1944 C60L GS (rare winch equipped version) is still for sale?

Very good leads lads .

Hanno , interesting story regarding Trp Griffiths / 32 Recce and the crease in the left fender of your F15 ... wow ...

I saw Gary Archers (El Monte, CA) C15 only too late , didn't save it my ebay favorites so I don't know what it went for , prob was worth every shilling of 8000 USD ... I would have paid him all of that ... well , maybe try to save a sawbuck or two ....

I don't expect miracles overnite , guess I better pace myself . Fairly new to the vehicle collecting thing . There is a HUGE amount to learn here . Sorry for drooling guys . Just admiring the work done here .

Just excited about burning a big hole in my kids inheritance ...!

Cheerio , Johnnie .

..... 3 tonner , hmmmmmmm ... ?

Got the Vickers MG ...

Lads , though I had missed out on Mr. Archers C15 , I did manage to procure a gas powered Vickers from an associate of Gary's ... I was quite pleasently surprised upon receipt . Bloody thing weighs a ton . Perhaps will get some pics into the "WW2 Equipment" area later . Now to get my oxygen bottle refilled and make some noise .

Jonnie 06-12-05 05:59

C15

Yes , of course , Hanno .

This one was once part of Mr. Jim Burrills 15th Recce .

I purchased her from Mr. Lenny Kulaki . She has been taken care of very well is in very proper working order .

I was struck by how close this one was to my home , Lenny being only an hour away , a wee bit north of me & Baltimore .

This little gem has seen some activity in her time . I intend on carrying this on giving her good care and a good home . I sure would like to find out the WW II history of this CMP . Perhaps it was with the 1st Can Div in Italy , or on the beach at Normandy with the 3rd Div , maybe with the 5th Canadian Armored Div in Holland . Or perhaps in service with a British regiment . Thrilling to consider all this !

It wouldn't make me seem like a cheeky fellow if I drop in and asked a few technical questions now and then , would it ?

Few more pics coming soon ,

Cheerio , Johnnie .

Sorry chum, the fact that this C15A came from Canada highly likely means it never left home...the ones used overseas were mostly left there after the end of WW2.

Great truck, good luck with it keep them piccies coming!

Johnnie...
You standing between myself and the Bard of Mace's Bay ,a rose between two thorns, would be the highlight of the weekend..
Guarenteed to have the greatest time..
Great grub..Jeff used to be a butcher and makes the meanest BBQ's this side of heaven..
Great guys and there is lots of vehicles..Last year I hadn't had so many laughs since the pigs ate granny...
You should try to Make it..Hopefully Phil and Big MIke will be coming and you may want to convoy part way..Maybe meet up in upstate NY some where..

john hoffman 10-02-06 17:04

Caldwell's in June

Alex , greetings . You say BBQ ? Down this a way that's always pretty good eating ! You guys like an ice cold stout or two when you dine ? Old thorns you say ? No worries .

Now we're getting off the subject ... !

Mr. Waterman & "Big Mike"? ... Reckon to use the Peace Bridge at Buffalo in New York if it does happen . Unless there is a short cut I don't know of . Came up that way to do some 1812 things at Old Fort Erie not too long ago .

Hmmmm ... the border folks ... Are there restrictions or special documents needed when one such as I hauls & road marches his CMP up to the Big Country to pick up on a little upscale socializing and BBQ ? Cheers .
