While browsing through the AWM data banks I found some photos of vehicles built for the military by the Victorian Railway Workshop in 1915.
Can anyone ID the makes of the following vehicles for me please?. cheers Cliff:salute: Pic one - a mobile operating thetre |

Cliff,
Not much help but a few clues for the knowledgable people on the Operating Theatre. Engine bay is sealed indicating a rear flywheel/fan. This design was a specialty of sophisticated European manufacturers FIAT ITALA etc. On the other hand the radiator sitting proud of the bonnet was favoured by a number of American companies. This was the REO trademark right up until the mid thirties. Unfortunately I have seen British and European trucks also with that feature. Only muddied the water but it might jog a memory. Lang |
Thank you Lang. Rather then muddy the waters so to speak I have learnt a little about early trucks from your post.
I am hopeing to do models of these at some stage. cheers Cliff:salute: |
