Okay folks, here is where you can have some fun.

Guess: Which Political Party did I, Ma Yappy aka Karmen, vote for (and "why" if you want to attempt guesses ;) )

I will tell you all who I voted for ... eventually. For now, I like to keep you all guessing ...

Vets Dottir 15-01-06 05:16

Here are the choices I had. Which one did I pick?

1) Liberal

2) Conservative

3) NDP = New Democratic Party

4) Bloc Quebecois

5) Green party

6) Marxist

Ma...
From Jifs postings ,I assume that Jif has voted for the Conservative party....
Now assuming that you voted for any other party ,but the Conservative party, you have cancelled Jif's vote!!!!!!!!
So I would think that you have fallen in line and voted Conservative..
To do otherwise was to poke the tiger in the eye with a sharp stick.. :bang:

chris vickery 15-01-06 16:43

I dunno.
Carmen was living out West in BC was she not? Maybe I am mistaken. BC is a typical NDP stronghold isn't it?
Ma kinda strikes me as a Greenie for some reason.
Maybe its a Vancouver Island thing. Lots of huga tree, yoga, peace love and groovy times man.
Bean sprouts anyone???
I'll keep an eye open for the hippy with the frying pan! :p

Hippy's don't use frying pans :fry: they use Woks :p

I have no problem chopping down a christmas tree as long as there's lots left in the forest. :p

Hate sprouts and tokers and wanna wash and cut hippies hair and wanna send them out into the environment called the real world without the benefit of pot perspective ... wanna give 'em all a baggy to pick up their puppy poop and preparation H for those hemeroids from sitting on the cold sidewalks doing yoga while playing their guitars and flutes while puppy poops in front of the bank the sit in front of ... by the way ... I hear that many of the older hippies have turned into Capitalist Pigs having discovered idealism and warm fuzzies and hunger and discomfort is okay when you're young but ... out with the pot, in with the Prozac, money, and things ... :D

Current BC Premier: Gordon Campbell, Liberal ... Was NDP last time round. Socreds before that? BC is all over the place, over the years, me thinks.

Groovy, huh? :D

A clue for you-all ... Ma Yappy did not vote for the Greenies :D

Vets Dottir 15-01-06 19:57

PS: That's okay Master Chris ... I shall not beat you with my :fry: ... I still kinda like you ... you're just young and us old folks gotta be tolerant with you young pups  :p

Isn't Toronto now the Weird North coast of Lake Ontario?
Funny how these things propagate. Winnipeg can be kinda weird too. Hmmm? I see a pattern here. I also see a frying pan coming my way. :fry: :p

I would have to say that Ma did not vote Liberal.

She found out about their secret agenda to start a Pan Registry Program! This Program would start out as a free registry but then once the costs of implementing this program skyrocket they will have to charge people to register their pans!

Then if people refused to pay the fee, they would be labelled criminals and prosecuted for not registering or if they failed to store their pans properly.

The next step would then be to ban pans altogether...

But what about all the money spent to start up this stupid registery?

On Election Day Say "Don't Ban Pans"

Sunray would also have to implement a different smiley!

For some reason, I keep thinking about this reply of yours, since you wrote it. I feel a need to say something here so you-all can know a little better where Ma Yappy is coming from regards this voting thing, or in fact with anything of life that I must make decisions about that effects not only me, but others.

My stance now: Voting someone into positions of power over effecting all of our lives is no light thing to me ... I feel a HEAVY responsibility and accountability, socially, for my "vote" ..... if my vote coincided with Geoff's, or any of your votes for that matter, that is purely coincidental.

My vote, it may be based on not knwoing the whole picture or impact of my decision, but my vote is with consideration of all of us, based on what I know so far (which is NEVER enough as far as I'm concerned).

..... And having voted ... I can only pray that the party I gave blind faith in (BLIND because I can never know if they'll ever follow through on their words and promises. I can only HOPE) , if they gain power, that they will do right by the bigger picture. If they screw up ... if I voted for them ... that's my failure too, is how I see it. Voting ... if my vote did not invalidate Jiff's vote ... that's JUST a fluke, and not intentional. Coincidental. We all gotta decide for ourselves. I respect that. Don't tell me how to vote and don't give me a hard time about how I voted. Voting is serious business and hard enough to decide without having to deflect flack for not voting as "others figure we should have" :p :D

Know though, that I can not, will not, did not, support a government who can betray the signifigance, risks and sacrifices of a military that sustained and continues to protect and sustain and maintain our "wyas/freedoms" and even the possibility for them to sit on their high horses to begin with.

The current Gov't bit the hand that feeds and sustains THEM AND US (our military) ... that shows they aren't to be trusted with the rest of us either in my humble opinion.

Simplistic thinking on my part perhaps, but certainly realistic and practical when we depend on them to make decisions that effects the rest of our wellbeings? ...

I still can't comprehend who let that ad happen or figured it was okay, but I'm glad it happened because it shows that those in current power don't know our Country's needs and PRIORITIES ... like the simple ones of who and what sustains us as a country to begin with.

ARGH.

Anyways folks ... point is ... if my vote did not invalidate Jiff's ... know that's a coincidence. I voted what felt was right to me based on my own reasoning and caring about all of us.

The Letter of the Day in today's Toronto Sun warns voters to beware of a potential pitfall.

The Progressive Conservative Party candidate is listed as "PC".

The above is not the Conservative Party.

The editorial comment suggests that Elections Canada has some serious explaining to do about this mis-representation of political parties.

Vets Dottir 24-01-06 03:40

Well, the polls are closed here now, and the count begins.

FYI ... I promised I'd tell you all which party I voted for ... and believe me, I looked, and looked, and looked, and looked, and looked for a Frying Pan Party of Canada ... alas ... they weren't on the ballot.

Remember ... and I mean this ... I would NOT have voted this one, even to validate or invalidate a friends vote. And any coincidentalness ... is truly incidental ...

I voted Conservative.

There you have it ... nuthin but the truth, the whole truth, and nuthin but the truth of who Ma Yappy voted for.

The count is not tallied yet ... it's only 9:37, and the polls just closed at 9:30 ...

Another by=the-way ... Master Sunray seriously believes I voted for NDP ... now he knows different, and that shows, he doesn't really know me ... yet ;) :D

Let the count continue and let's see who gets to sit in Ottawa and lord it over us and hope they'll do right by us all ...

By the way ... I truly HATE voting because it's such a serious impactful business.

Tories!

All I can say is that our Conservative Party, of which we are not members in this house (now) are glad that their counterparts have won. BUTTTTT it seems that there is a minority government and that's not such a good thing: look what happened to John Major when he was UK PM.

Otherwise perhaps there should be started up a Frying Pan Party?
