Does have the various numbers produced of the different marks of Brens manufactured by John Inglis?
I have come across a nice 1941 Mk1 (m) Inglis bren which found it's way to Australia to undergo a "Factory through Repair" in 1953. The serial is N854. How many Mk1 (m), or sometimes called a Mk1*, brens were produced and what dates?

And how did it end up in Aust? I think being 1941, there is the possibility it may have gone to North Africa, and been brought back from there. It was certainly in Lithgow in 1953 being fully reconditioned to as new condition.
It's quite nice (and rare) to see the "Inglis" and "Broad Arrow C" sitting side by side with "MA" (Lithgow) on the one firearm.

You can ask your question at http://weaponsonline.proboards76.com .

Alternatively there is a Book on the Bren Gun which a search on the web will reveal.
