brake Linings

Hi all,

I have just collected my brake bands from being re-lined from a local company. They have made such a good job a lot better than I could have done if I had been able to sorce the material. the only snag was the cost, lots!!!

The new linings appear to have brass impregnated into them. From what I am told it is done due to the linings being submerged in oil.

Has any one had the same material fitted in there carriers.

I would be interested to hear how you have got on running this type of lining.

So thats the last part required to re-assemble the controlled differential stearing unit fitted to the Alligator.

I have some holiday booked from work in a week so gess what I will be doing.

Hello Bryan,

The Sherman tank also uses a similar type of brass filled lining for the steering brakes.
This without problems.

I think the application is very sound and they will give you many problem-free miles of driving.

Best regards,

Marco
