I don't know about you guys,but it's getting scary when the Chinese aand Koreans are muscling us out of medals.You know whaat??We're becoming a minority in our own country as I type this.Look around my friends.We are an endangered species AND it's happening faster than you or I are willing to admit.My daughters' university now looks like little Hong Kong.She's competing with orientals.Beware,for we aare fading into the west

Nature's way??? I think its probably the fault of those damned Liberals under Trudeau. Thanks a lot. High time to close the barn doors I say, and to those who don't like it here and want to change OUR CULTURE, get lost and go back to your s***hole countries you come from. If a foreigners homeland and culture is so special, why do they all want to come here???

Being an ex-Hongcouverite I have a unique perspective on the intermingling (or lack thereof) of certain cultures. Vancouver has for decades been a wonderful mix of cultures. People from other countries, principally Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Japan, China, and India. The immigrants from all of these countries managed to fit in with Canadian culture. They kept their traditions alive without demanding that their new country change theirs. Well I remember through the '50's, '60's, and '70's enjoying Greek Days on Fourth Avenue, Italian celebrations on Commercial Drive, Chinese new year parades in Chinatown, Oktoberfest at the P.N.E. Gardens, Robbie Burns' day, St. Paddies' day...some of my friends still called Hallowe'en Guy Fawkes night! It was a wonderful mix of traditions with little or no strife between groups. Very cosmopolitan!
Then things changed. The Liberal plague infected the land. Suddenly a measured mix of immigrants was changed to a flood from a few select cultures. Immigration from the traditonal countries was frowned upon by the nabobs in Ottawa and the flood gates were opened if you were Sikh, east Indian, or Hong Kong chinese. The groups that were least likely to join the mix became the principal immigrants and the enclaves grew rapidly.
The city of Richmond which was once a quiet bedroom community of Vancouver turned virtually overnight into a suburb of Hong Kong. With numbers came arrogance. English speaking people suddenly couldn't find service in their native tongue, No. 3 Road turned into a bumper car arcade as wealthy Chinese drove their Mercedes Benz's with total disregard for right of way and the rules of the road. Then, in what is the greatest insult to Canadians, the Richmond City council voted to remove anything pertaining to Christ from Christmas! The month of December now celebrates "Winter Festival" They would have banned any and all celebration but the Chinese merchants didn't want to miss out on any sales, of course!
Things aren't much better elsewhere in Lotusland. In Abbotsford farm land has been concentrated into the ownership of a few Sikhs who sponsor their "cousins" to immigrate. These new immigrants are then forced to work the farms for simple room and board for 10 years. During the non-growing season, they are forced to sign over their Unemployment cheques to their sponsors. Some even load themselves into two old cars and take turns crashing into each other for "whiplash" claims. While this is going on, the spawn of these wealthy Sikh families form gangs and drive around in expensive cars beating white teens with grass hockey sticks.
Of course, while the Liberals are single handedly re-social engineering Canada, the likes of Trudeau are flipping off protestors in B.C. So, this is my first complaint about the Liberals...anyone for the next 99?

Seriously,I agree with every word in your book/ er sermon.A very good friend of mine, (and get his name,as his dad won the DFC during the Battle of Britain) R.A.F. Baker,who has his captains' papers on ocean going ships,was DENIED citizenship here.THe poor guy was so heartbroken,he returned to Papua-New Guiena to become the harbor master,while,at the same time,even though a number of us sponsored the lad,I now sit back and watch the type of people they let in.Who the hell do you think is responsible for both crime,then screaming for THEIR rights.

Anyway my book is now written,think I'll go get another Molson Dry.Boy,never thought all this typing could make a lad thirsty :salute:

Gee Gary. I wonder why so many of my peers think of me as being some kind of W.S. type. I appreciate my WASP origins and over the years have been second best to the non-whites in this country. Don't get me wrong, as I do embrace different cultures, even if it is just for the Chicken fried rice or Curry chicken, but, I do believe in do as the romans do mentality. If I had to wear a tuban to fit in, I guess either 1) I would or 2) I wouldn't go there. Enough is enough already. Time to move to America I guess...
