Where are my numbers..???

Bonjour all....

I have been gradually tearing down my Cab 11 .... nose is coming off slowly and managed to get most of the dog house and dash/jewels out without too much damage. Found a number of various scres, stove bolts, pan head, recessed metal screws.... and the proverbial wasp's nest.... with wasp!!!

Now I have been waiting a long time to get that dog house tranny cover off to see the serial numbers that are beneath.....
..... BUT I CAN'T FIND THEM... where oh hwere am I supposed to look.... I scapped dirt and grease, scrubbed with gasoline, sprayed with grease cutting Brakecleen and I still can't see any darn numbers...... Could the fumes from the solution be affecting my vision???

I promise to replace the cagged nuts and use stainless Steel bolts of all the same size when I rebuild!!!!!

...Oh and the radiator looks sad..... with a big soldered hole smack in the middle of the core.....

AS preventive measure I poured a few gallons of diesel fuel in the oil filer and in the carb.... hoping to loosen things up...

Any and all suggestions comments....note of encouragements are appreciated....

Well according to the maual for Alex Blair the number should be on a tag RH top most bellhousing bolt..... guess what...I knew the engine ahd been changed... and the tag is gone.... bouh hou!!

I was able to ID the tranny, the 2 speed transfer case and both rear and front axles.... 6:39....thanks to the book for Alex....

Managed to get the top and windshield frame off with no damage.
For a moment I imaged what it would look like with stone yellow color..no doors and no roof..a la North African look !!!!!

Now contemplating removing the complete cab..arches.. in one piece to get to the frame and power train.... will have to use the hot wrench for all bolts I am afraid......

Had amazing results with Release All from Canadian Tire on most bolts.... the rest succombed to the cut off wheel...... found more rust which will require patches...... butt welds... scary....

Found an interesting arrangement..... probably done by the previous owner... a lever that pulls and locks the 4 wheels hydraulics brake system...an arrangement of cable an pulleys that pulls on the linkage of the master brake system... probably for use while using the winch .....

Would still like to hear from some of you who found numbers...tags or punched in the bell housing....
