Jefe, I'd love to and was actually planning to make the trip if the job in Ardmore, Oklahoma lasted a little longer, however, I let them fire me as I wasn't willing to risk my life working in that very dangerous refinery. Subsequently, I drove to Omaha, Nebraska and signed the books there. They have a very large coal fired power plant under construction across the Missouri river in Iowa that will be requiring a substantial number of electricians very soon, hopefully within a week or two. Failing that, the Superdome in New Orleans is currently a walk through, although I'm holding out for Omaha as the scale is substantially higher there. So, God willing, I should be back at work at either of the two sites before CC#5 happens. As an aside, while in Omaha I had a chance to tour the absolutely fabulous Strategic Air Command museum. Where else can one see under one roof a B1, B17, B25, B29, B36 (yes, a B36!), RB45, B47, B52, B57, B58, and a FB111! And those were just the B's! The collection also included a KC97, EC135, U2, SR71, C47, C54, C119, and a Avro Vulcan, to name a few. And the rarest of all, an XF85 Goblin, one of only two parasite fighters in the world! Not planning to have time to tour the SAC museum, I unfortunately didn't take my camera. If I make a subsequent trip to the museum, I'll definitely get some shots for MLU. Hope all y'all enjoy CC#5 and maybe I'll make it for CC#6! CHIMO! |

1 Week!
All,
The CC5 event is less than a week away and I hope all is well with everybody so that they can make the trek to Chatsworth Ontario. Once again I look forward to seeing the CMP faithfull and renewing old aquaintances with the fellers that make this hobby what it is. My job takes me far and away  but I have Friday booked off for travel so that I be assured of a good seat at the BBQ and get front row seat for the goings on. See you there ... Stewart |
Is there a map available? I can't seem to find one but when your most used keys are Control, Alt, Delete it's hard to find anything.
Cheers, Barry :confused |
mapquest

Work yourself over to Highway 10. Go north to a "Y" intersection at the village of Chatsworth...the Highway is now 6/10. Proceed north to a white and green standard highway sign which indicates the village of Keady to the left (west), and the Holland-Sydenham Townline to the right (east). Go 3 km east to a "T" intersection, turn right, second driveway on the left. (As noted before, roll down window and zero in on smell of roasting pig). Civvie cars in front, CMPs etc in rear. Phone 519-794-0214 if you're really lost. :teach: :yappy: :salute:  :D |
Hello All, Preparations are almost complete, the Bard arrives tomorrow, gotta stock up on beer.....
There will be signs posted on hwy 6&10 one concession North of Chatsworth, its easy to find, follow the CC5 signs and you'll arrive. For those arriving via hwy#10, it is under construction, so there will be delays, some bridge work etc.... But we'll make sure its all worth while once you arrive !!! See you this weekend Jeff |
Look forward to seeing you all. It's been too long.

CC5 Report
Another hats off event for the Caldwell brothers!
The weather was perfect again for the annual reunion with nice trucks in attendance as well as ( most ) of the CMP faithful. The ones that missed it will be crying in thier beer until next year. Congratulations to Jon Skagfeld who won the peoples choice Restoration Award. I believe that a splendid time was had by one and all ( even the pig had a smile on his face ) - a super day by all who ran the event. Stewart |

Phil Waterman holds court at Chatsworth.

What a great poem Gary. You have missed your calling. Chatsworth was a real good time and the Caldwells did a bang up job. Hats off to them and their wives. I got to meet a few people that I only knew through MLU so it was nice to be able to put a face with a name. The pig roast was delicious and the pop and beer were cold. The Bard from Mace'sBay recited a poem. Are all the CMP guys poetic? :confused Phil Waterman came from New Hampshire, Dale Law came from Saskatchewan and of course Mike from New Brunswick. I would be remiss to fail and mention "2 Wheel Drive Loy" from Woodstock. Jon Skagfield won the vehicle award and rightfully so. :salute: It was a very casual day with lots of stories and I think we all learned something from the good conversation and the 19 set clinic.
Everyone should start making plans to be there next year. Cheers, Barry |
I'm really sorry I missed this year's event, gents. I know how good it can be. The fact is I've spent most of this weekend in a blur and dizzy, not good for a new prescription. The eye dr said it would be a while to get used to this, but it doesn't seem to be happening. Eye exhaustion has been an issue; I've spent most most of my weekend asleep off and on because of that. I'm afraid I wouldn't have been very good company.
I hope to see you all soon. Congrats to Jon. Talk to you soon, mate. It's been way too long, especially after 30 years. This is dumb, dumb, dumb. Gotta sign off now, lads, have to rest my eyes for work tomorrow. Good night and Godspeed. |
Wonderful time....
....amy sound like an echo of the comments others have made......
but hats off for the Jeff and Dan..... had a wonderful time as in the previous 4 years....... Loved seeing everyone and for the love of God.... where was Barry Churcher....... I could have sworn he had not showed up... Maybe it is because I was sitting in the same blue chair Geoff used last year.... Thank you everyone... Bob C |
