G'day All

Recently at the auction of the Belfield Collection - Melbourne Tank Museum, Carrier, Machine Gun ( Australian ) Local Pattern 2A; Hull No. 0912, sold to an ecstatic gentleman from somewhere in the British Isles.

Does anybody know whom this person is or possibly have contact details for him??

Pedr,

I have it second hand from a friend in Aus. that a collector in England bought a LP carrier at the auction and also something a little larger. If it arrives in time, maybe we could see it at Beltring.

I do not want to divulge any names as the story did not come direct to me.

Good day Gentlemen

Now that you have had Beltring, I don't suppose this little beauty has risen her pretty little head.

I read that there was an LP1 at Beltring, has anyone any pics??
(je presumme - you mean an Aussie LP1)

Pedr,

There was a LP2 carrier at Beltring, it has attended for about 3 years now, built by South Australian Railways. When ever it passed by our camp with a tatty Aussie flag flying, my Australian friends, over from NSW, let out a cheer :salute:

The carrier from the Melbourne auction is supposed to be arriving in August, my informant tells me.

Thanks for your prompt replies guys.

Ah!, ok Richard, so that must be SAR 1499 that attended Beltring. I'm waiting with baited breath for the arrival of 0912. It is certainly taking a while....are they driving it to the UK like Lang did the staff car?? :D

Tony,

It still urks me to read how you lost 0005. :bang: In hind site, you should have qualified John's comment to at least get it clear in your mind. Oh well there'll be other things. :)

Fortunately it has gone to a fantastic home in Victoria. Now living next to it's new shed mate the Chaffee from John's Auction. ( this may give a hint as to whom it belongs )

I'll speak to him when he gets home from his holidays and see if it's alright to post some pics of it now.

0005

Guys,
last time I saw 0005 she was almost ready to move under her own power. I have some good pictures but I won't post them without the owner's consent.
Suffice to say she has gone to a good home.......
As for the LP1 at Beltring, wasn't it actually an LP2a????????
