Glenn Ford
Just noticed the passing of actor Glenn Ford, cousin I believe of our own much missed Peter Ford. :salute:
|
Hi Keith,
I skimmed a story about Glen Ford's death, and remember it said something about him being Canadian born? Karmen. |
Canuck
Yes, he was one of your mob. A good actor too.
|
I googled.
I just did a Google search for Glen Ford and came up with this site by Peter Ford about Glen:
http://www.glennfordbio.com/life.html  Karmen. |
PS:
I skimmed some of that site and the Peter Ford here is Glen Fords son. Did Glen Ford also have a brother named Peter? Maybe Peter was his namesake :) Glen Ford has led an amazing life around amazing talent. I remember some of the old movies I saw him in and I always loved him in them :) Sad he won't be around to make more. Karmen. |
Old forum
If you look in the old forum you'll find plenty of posts by Peter who was one of the main CMP experts until his sad death in 2001.
Peter had an incredible archive of CMP related material and was the owner of a F15A. http://www.oldcmp.net/Images/PFord/InfoExb.jpg |
Ah, NOW I think I'm starting to understand. And the Peter in the photo would be Glen's brother then. Right? He looks too old to be Glen Fords son Peter ;)

Cousin
I think he was Glenn's cousin
|
THAT'S what I said then ... HIS COUSIN! :D :p
NOTE TO SELF: buy ginko biloba Ma Yappy. |
Goodness how I will miss that man.
I won't quote my age, again, but I would bet I saw just about every one of his medium to major films over the years. Had no idea he was a Canuck, be proud of one of yours. I hope they soon release a huge pack of DVDs of his films so I can add it to my John Wayne collection. A consumate actor and apparently a pretty decent guy to boot. Unlucky in love but that happens. Glen Ford ??
He is the son of my grandmother Rebecca Malloy's girl cousin, which would probably make me his fourth cousin removed. The families were all Irish immigrants who settled around Quebec City.As a matter of fact Ford was born near the present day Valcartier military base. The name of the town escapes me now,oh yes,Shannonville, which was in the news recently for the town's tainted water which was blamed on the military for dumping toxic waste into the town's well water. :salute:

It really is a small world and we really do seem to be all related if we go back through our family trees, doesn't it?
I wondered where in Canada Mr. Glen Ford hailed from. Thanks for your interesting tidbits and connections Garry :) And I really do feel sadder, and sadder, as more and more of my parents generation leaves us. The world is not the same without them. We live in their memories, accomplishments and failures, and carry them forth to leave legacies for our own kids to carry forth. Karmen. |
