C60L i.d.?
1 Attachment(s)
Can anyone please pin down the likely assembly year for this C60L..which I take it is a G/S? It's got to be either a '43 model, say October 1943 ex-Oshawa, or late war, 1944 Model possibly 1945 assembly.

Couple of opservations
Couple of things that should narrow down the period assuming that it as built at the plant not as it was assembled overseas.
1. Lifting flange on wheels 2. Chevy by the brush guard 3. Side curtains are the 3 panel not the later 4 panel design 4. Gas tank filler pipe is the long version 5. Spare Tire rack but this is unconclusive as Pattern 12s had this feature 6. Vacuum trailer brake unit unconclusive as it was used on the Pattern 13 cabs through out I think Some place I have a letter from Bart Vanderveen laying out some of the running changes dates but if I remember correctly, he said that the dates where the change dates but not necessarily a universal or conclusive date as parts in the system continued to be used. |
cylinder
Hello, it looks like there is a big cylinder shaped "thing" mounted behind the cab, can anyone tell me what it is? :teach:

The large unit is the vacuum tank for the trailer brake vacuum boost system.
