Manuals and Drawings in Ford Archives

Hello,

I was just looking at the Ford Archives website and came across this entry for WWII military manuals for Ford vehicles: Manuals The entry states that there is an inventory of these manuals but it doesn't appear to be accessible online. Does anyone out there have access to a list of titles in this collection that they would care to share?

Also of interest is their collection of over 1 million technical drawings here: Technical Drawings Again, it appears to be only searchable in person. Is there anything of interest relating to Ford's WWII military trucks?

My particular interest is in the 1940-41 Ford 1½ ton regular (as opposed to c.o.e.) trucks. I am looking for drawings and photos of the 158" chassis and drivetrain but would appreciate hearing about any interesting discoveries others might have found at this archive.

Thanks!

Mark

Only 0.4 cubic feet? I think I have more than that on my shelf!

Hi Mark
You might contact Jim Gilmore in the US. He has spent considerable time in the Ford archives and probably knows more about them than anyone. I don't have a recent contact for him but maybe someone on this forum has something.
Cheers,
Barry
