Thought some might find this photo of interest.
Cheers :) Caption: Personnel of the Canadian Military Headquarters Historical Section, London, England, 19 April 1944 (Lieutenant Colonel C.P. Stacey is fifth from the left) Source: LAC - PA-115819 |
That's the famous C.P. Stacey, front and centre, in forage cap.

HISTORIAN'S WORTH
1 Attachment(s)
The attached report offers some interesting insights into the Cdn Army's equipment program during WWII. There is a good chance that some of the report was compiled by C.P. Stacey and gang in that lil ole HUP in the photo above...
The txt file format is not very pleasing, but you can use the Edit/Find menu to look up a particular vehicle or piece of equipment. The Heavy Utility section is quite interesting... |
Blatant, self-serving, commercial announcement
You can also buy a copy of Tools of the Trade which takes the four wartime reports and distills them into a readable text, illustrated throughout with WWII photos of the equipment in question.

a copy of CMHQ Report No. 141 in PDF format can be found here ... or .... as Clive wrote, "You can also buy a copy of Tools of the Trade which takes the four wartime reports and distills them into a readable text....." Cheers :D |
Re: Blatant, self-serving, commercial announcement
Apparently, one can also buy a copy of Tools of the Trade (a Service Publication booklet, I believe), which takes the four wartime reports and distills them into a readable text, illustrated throughout with WWII photos of the equipment in question.
As well, the pdf format is much more readable. Thanks to both of you fine historians for the assistance. |
