Australian 25 pdr Gun Tractor

Hi
This is a model making question. I want to build an australian 25pdr being pulled by a CMP. Is the Airfix/Italeri Chevrolet tractor appropriate or did the australians only use CMP Gun Tractors with home made bodies?
Any pictures would be welcomed.

When he finally gets off the Southern Ocean, I know Keith Webb can answer you. In the meantime, Euan, can you pick up the slack? You or Mike Cecil...

To my knowledge we used the cab 12 body style (Tamiya Quad kit) and our local #8 & #9 bodied FAT's only and did not use the body style this Italeri kit depicts.

Pic one the 12 cab Quad

More (and better) photos of the #8 & #9 Australian Gun tractors can be found on Keith Webb's excellent website - http://www.oldcmp.net/

Thanks Cliff you got in before me. I spoke to Keith yesterday when he hit land on the coast of Tassie, adventure going well. Paul if you want to build a Aust GT model then the a #9 chev would have to be the first choice, :D I think Cliff was talking about scratch building a couple of #9 gt's for Keith & I. ;)

Euan the cab front was cast in resin this morning and over the next 6 months, as money for RTV is availiable, I will be making masters to do a #9 Ford GT in resin hopefully. I would not even have got this far without help with measurements and photos from Tony Smith and Keith.

Another on the list is a #3 or #3A Ford Marmon/Herrington GT as used by Australian Forces.

Cheers
Cliff :)
