Oz T16

Do any of our south eastern friends (taken from Scotland very roughly!), do you know if Australia or New Zealand produced any parts for T16s? Am trying to verify something.

Thanks
Nigel

Don't think we had any other than perhaps a few orphans.

This is the only one I've ever seen here at the Melbourne Tank Museum.

Checking up.

I have a letter from a lady who worked in a factory here in Hamilton, Scotland (definitely Scotland!) who says her job was to remove grease from bogies and test paint thickness. Bogies came from Australia and were for T16 she writes. Am trying to corroborate this.

Hmmm funny thing how come we were the 1st to be able to put a decent gun in to a tank durring WW2. The AC4 Thunderbolt fitted with the 17 pounder... even though it never went into production for reasons I wont go into here however this development led to the Brittish being able to fit the 17 pounder in to the Sherman. The AC1 was also the 1st one piece cast armour hull which was not done by the US untill the 1950's.

Phil... :salute:
