For those of you still in the throes of winter:

Allow me to be the first in the annual "Gloat-fest" to post a picture of the Bradford Pear tree in my front yard. I took this picture a couple of days ago when it was a little warmer...it's cooled off some since, only hit 80F/26C yesterday. Nowhere near last year's temperature on this date which was 86F. (aren't I a prick!) How is everyone else's weather these days?

An inadvertant "in the background" pic, no?

80 degrees is nice I must say, no where near that here. Full winter here yet but not as bad as we usually get. We have maybe a foot of snow on ground at my place. The temperature is nice to day tho-- 53 F (13C) Was out for a cruise on the snowmobile, nice and warm. Everything is melting real nice, soon enough we can say here that it 80 degrees out too .

After reading your post yesterday I went out and took a photo of my pear tree. You can see it in the middle of the photo and there are no blossoms yet. I spent the afternoon cutting down and cleaning up 2 poplar trees. I managed not to crush the pear tree or the garden shed.

It was a balmy +15 celcius out but very big windy day here today ... BC has had severe avalanche warmings as the mild weathers and rains have melted things and froze, and melted, and froze, and m,elted, again and again ... amazing to look or go outside and see almost all the snow gone when only about a week ago it looked much worse than the snowy yard previous. Incredible how quickly the snow can met off.

I worked outside on the Welland Canal all winter.Jan. was not bad,Feb.Brrrr!!!!.Today the temp went up to a balmy 8'.It was nice to work without heavy clothing and boots.Putting nuts and bolts in without thick gloves is a blessing.
Wind chill around the flight locks had dipped to -30C in the past few weeks. On Monday , my wife and I are heading to Florida to catch a ship for a Caribbean cruise!!Oh my aching, arthritic bones welcome it! The ship is Royal Caribbean Lines," Navigater of the Seas".We sail free!!!The wifes nephew is Captain of the ship and his birthday is the same as LOL. It's a good thing that LOL said that her and her nephew had the same b-day as I had forgot!!I have to pick up a present for my wife now.Maybe I can pick her up something from one of the islands. Do you think a sting bikini for someone in the 60's is appropriate? Great body but NAW. Take care all,I love this site. Wayne |
