turning radius

How tight can a carrier turn if the brakes are set up properly?

It should be able to spin around on the one track. The radius would be the width of the vehicle. If the vehicle is 7 feet wide, by the time it spins around, the total width would be 14feet.

The brake set up has been discussed on the forum before. Besides having the brakes adjusted properly, and all the linkages free, it also requires that the drums are turned smooth, and the shoes arced in to the radius of the drum. Without the full braking surface being utilized, it is hard to get the full potential out of the carrier.

Thanks Rob. We've got them adjusted so we can do donuts in either direction. I guess we got it right!

Sounds like you have got it all figured out. Are you taking it to the summer event or just the Spring one.

Can you post picutres. I'd love to see how it looks compared to when I last saw it.

Jordan-We finally got it "finished". There are a lot of small details to be done, but we have her running, turning, braking and doing everything she's supposed to do.

I'll take some pics later today and send them to you and you can post them. This thing has been a marathon to get ready in such a short time. Hopefully we won't have any problems when she goes into the field tomorrow.
