1944 Carry Case ID
 

Hello all,

I bought this 'carry case' at a local market some time ago. The problem is...I can't seem to identify it.

I presume it would have carried a delicate fitting/instrument etc as it has a thick leather protective inner lining and is lockable (with key).

It has the stamped markings of 'MECP 1944' on the front lip. The MECP may not be correct as the stamp is very faded.

In desperation, I am calling upon this forum to identify it for me...please, please, please.

P.S - The computer keyboard is for 'scale' purposes only.

Mills Equipment Company tool case
 

Tommy, although I've never seen a case such as yours before, the lock is exactly the same as those on other lockable tool bags made by MECo (the "o" is even with the top of the other letters). That, and the somewhat dirty condition leads me to believe your case is also a tool bag. Mills Equipment Company was an American company making P37 web gear for the Brits. Hope this info helps.
